One And Only You

Every single blade of grass,

And every flake of snow—

Is just a wee bit different …

There’s no two alike, you know.

From something small, like grains of sand,

To each gigantic star

All were made with THIS in mind:

To be just what they are!

When my friend Kathie called me to ask if I would photograph her daughter’s 1st birthday party I of course said yes. I’ve know Kathie for a long time and I just love her sense of style plus her knowledge of the best places to eat (whenever I’m stuck on that I text her and she never fails to recommend restaurants that I will end up visiting over and over again). So I knew for  Quinley’s first birthday she would make it absolutely amazing. Let’s put it this way– Quinley’s birthday party was so incredible it had me wishing I had more kids so I can throw another one!

To begin with It was held at the Whimsy in Pasadena, California and it was the perfect venue. I love it because there are so many windows and the light that comes in makes it feel so vibrant. To start with they had face painting, songs, balloon artists, and reading time as well. The theme was so adorable: “The first time there’s ever been you.” So the idea behind that is who will you become?  An artist? a ballerina? Perhaps a musician–the choices are endless and we can’t wait to see what you will be!

Heather from Amorology totally knocked it out of the park (and let’s be honest, she always knocks it out of the park!) The colors and whimsy she created left everyone completely in awe. The kids laughed, danced, sang, played musical instruments and measured their heights on a board that was given to Quinley as a keepsake.

I can go on and on explaining how incredible this birthday was, but the images truly show it firsthand. Happy birthday Quinley!!
