Orange County Maternity Session

I always love taking pictures for my fellow photographer friends. It was such a joy to hear that Janelle was having another baby and they were over the moon because she was having a girl! To say I was excited when she asked me to photograph her maternity session is an understatement. She is one of the sweetest human beings ever! Her family just made me feel right at home (as if we were all related somehow and we were just hanging out). For this session we headed to orange county. I know this cute place that has redwoods and is so much fun to photograph in. It does get a little tricky because in the thick of the redwoods, the light just tends to disappear quickly, and you have to have a steady hand to shoot at those low shutter speeds.

As we planned for her maternity session Janelle thought it would also be great to get a few pictures of her family in it as well. Of course, since this was such an important time in their lives, I thought it was perfect idea. I left the last picture of them all holding hands on a path as a symbolic moment. In a couple of weeks there will be five of them on that journey. Marina family what a blessing that will be! I sincerely can’t wait to meet her!

xoxo, Lucy
