I headed to Joshua Tree to photograph Alex and Tina’s engagement. I was so lucky to have met her before on a shoot I photographed where she did hair and makeup. She is truly very talented! Alex and Tina decided to stay the weekend in a rental, so we had acres of gorgeous Joshua Tree all to ourselves. I’ve shoot in Joshua Tree many times before because it’s one of my favorite places to photograph-I mean you can’t go wrong, the light, the rocks, and the terrain–it’s all so magical!

First, can I begin with how talented Tina’s mother is? She made that gold sequin (second dress) and some others as well–like unbelievable! Tina made the bouquet, so it seems like creative artists run in her family..

We had so much fun spending an entire day starting with  the two of them eating breakfast, talking, lounging, dancing and then heading right outside to take some amazing pictures with the most scenic backdrop of Joshua Tree. Alex was so sweet trying to keep Tina warm. They both are just so incredible together–the way they love one another is so special.

Because we were shooting in November the temperatures can dip below 40 degrees fahrenheit, which for native Californians means we are wrapped up in winter coats, hats and gloves. As the sun started to set it was super chilly and Tina was a true champ braving the cold. We left just when the last bit of light kissed us goodbye. As I was driving off darkness fell and the stars came out shining so brightly, almost as if to say they had witnessed something so spectacular. And truly, I think they had.

Tina and Alex I can’t wait to shoot your wedding in February! If you’d like to book an engagement session I’m all in. Contact me HERE
